The Dean of the College of Media at Warith Al-Anbiyaa University

The Dean of the College of Media at Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him), affiliated with the Al-Husseini Holy Shrine, affirmed during the International Conference: that our university’s vision is inspired by the words of the representative of the Higher Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbala’i, who said, “The impossible can become possible, and the possible becomes a tangible reality.” This has become a guiding vision for Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him).

Dr. Mohammed Gaml Al-Taif spoke during the activities of the 5th International Scientific Conference and the 17th Annual Conference of the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, held under the title "Media, Communication Technology, and Their Role in Enhancing Dialogue Among Civilizations," hosted by Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him). He stated: “Firstly, I must express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Presidency of Baghdad University, the Dean of the College of Media, and the administrative, technical, and academic staff for their fruitful efforts and persistent pursuit in supporting and guiding scientific research. Their efforts also bear the burden of organizing this important conference in its theme, timing, location, objectives, and the anticipated cognitive impact.”

He added, “We are pleased, as the Presidency of Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him) and the College of Media, to be part of this significant scientific event, not only as participants but as creators and sponsors, alongside entities recognized for excellence in the contemporary Iraqi scene.”

He further elaborated: “Our gathering today, in this scientific edifice, is a valuable opportunity to embody a deep conviction that media does not only represent the voice of the present but is also a bridge extending across time and space, carrying a message of understanding and rapprochement among nations and peoples.”

He pointed out that "media in our current era has proven to be more than just a transmitter of news and information; it is a powerful tool capable of building bridges of communication between different cultures and civilizations. Through media, we can break down barriers, overcome stereotypes, and promote the values of tolerance and mutual respect."

He emphasized, “We live in a world full of challenges and crises. To confront them effectively, we must believe in the strength of dialogue and communication.”

He clarified that “media has the ability to stimulate civilizational dialogue and support understanding among people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. Therefore, all of us must strive to employ this power positively and constructively, utilizing modern communication technologies to spread the values of peace and coexistence.”

He concluded by saying that: “The lofty title and striking slogan of this conference, given its broad scope, importance, and amidst the difficult circumstances faced by nations, peoples, civilizations, and cultures of all kinds, should be held in Baghdad—city of peace and love—and in its venerable university. This, in turn, places upon all of us a doubled responsibility—to organize, to succeed, and to present it in the most proud and worthy image that befits it and us.”

He added, “The representative of the Higher Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbala’i, said: ‘The impossible can become possible, and the possible becomes a tangible reality,’ which has now become a vision for Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (Peace Be Upon Him). From here, I place myself and my colleagues, without exception, as true supporters and continuous patrons of the march of science and knowledge, lighting the way with diverse media tools and communication technology with its various means, to promote and deepen dialogue based on equality and mutual respect among different human civilizations.”

He concluded by wishing that “this conference, its organizers, and participants reach genuine scientific outcomes that bear fruits and resonate both theoretically and practically. I extend my thanks and appreciation to the scientific and preparatory committees and all supporting entities. I also repeat my gratitude to the Presidency of Baghdad University, the Dean of the College of Media, and all present participants, whether in person or via social media platforms. I commend your efforts and highly value this solid scientific achievement.”
